How It Smokes: The first third opens on oak and a Cognac-like warmth, with a faint saline edge and roasted peanut sitting beside a quiet line of leather. As the shape shifts from round to square, the middle reads to us like an empty snifter: barrel wood and a rum-like note with less sugar than you might expect. The final third keeps a lingering sweetness with bold oak and nut, closing on a short, leathery finish. The pressed head gives a firm, focused draw.
Blend Details: A Connecticut broadleaf maduro wrapper, aged in Cognac barrels, over Dominican binder and filler, made by Arturo Fuente in the Dominican Republic. The Shark belongs to the Añejo family that grew out of the 1998 hurricane, and its tapering square-pressed head is shaped entirely by hand.
