Same seven inch frame as the natural King T, a very different wrapper. Here Fuente uses a reddish Rosado Sungrown leaf from Ecuador, and the cigar takes on more depth and colour as a result. For guests comparing the two side by side, our Downtown Dubai boutique keeps both, a useful way to taste what a wrapper does among premium cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Medium, as rated by Cigar Aficionado.
Flavour Notes: Wood and mint, nutmeg and chestnut, honey and orange peel on the finish, per Cigar Aficionado.
How It Smokes: The wrapper shows a reddish tone that hints at the sun grown leaf. In our reading the first third opens woody with a cool, minty lift. By the middle a richer core of nutmeg and chestnut builds, giving the Churchill more weight. The last third turns zesty, with honey and orange peel resonating through the finish. Cigar Aficionado called it complex, and the shift from cool wood to sweet citrus is where that shows.
Blend Details: A Tabacalera A. Fuente cigar from the Dominican Republic, part of the Chateau Fuente series. The maker lists it with a sun grown wrapper only; Cigar Aficionado records the wrapper as Ecuadorian, with Dominican binder and filler.
