Eye of the Bull is the shortest cigar in the Don Carlos family, three and a half inches with a stout 55 ring, packed in boxes marked for The Man's 80th, the Edición de Aniversario series that celebrated Carlos Fuente Sr.'s eightieth birthday. It spent years as a personal project inside the company before reaching shelves in 2023. We hold it at our Downtown Dubai cigar house for a short, full-flavoured smoke among our premium cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Mild to medium strength, medium body
Flavour Notes: Dry wood and white pepper, cream, then black pepper, earth and a dry red chilli note.
How It Smokes: The first third opens on dry wood and white pepper, with a brief sweetness from the cap that fades within minutes. Through the middle, pepper and a creamy texture build together, the pepper most vivid through the nose. In our reading the finish turns to black pepper, dry timber and earth, with a dry red chilli note and gathering warmth at the end. Despite its size it burns slowly, and the flavour grows from medium to fuller as it goes.
Blend Details: A Cameroon wrapper over Dominican binder and filler, made at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic. The cigar was shown at the 2022 and 2023 trade shows, then released as regular production in July 2023 in 20-count boxes.
