Take the Chateau Fuente robusto, stretch it to six and three quarter inches and you have the Double Chateau. It keeps the cedar sleeve and the ribbon foot, and its natural wrapper keeps it easygoing. We often suggest it at our boutique for a first long cigar among premium cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Mild, as rated by Cigar Aficionado.
Flavour Notes: Oak, vanilla bean and lemon zest, floral notes and a malty finish, per Cigar Aficionado.
How It Smokes: Cigar Aficionado's tasters saw a yellowish wrapper with a good draw, and the smoke is creamy from the start. In our reading the first third brings oak and vanilla bean. A lemon zest brightness carries through the middle, and floral notes rise as the cigar shortens. The finish is malty and soft. We read it as mild and easygoing across the full length, a Churchill that stays gentle to the band.
Blend Details: Made at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic as part of the Chateau Fuente series, aged and sleeved in cedar. The maker offers it in natural, maduro and sun grown; this natural version has a Connecticut shade wrapper over Dominican binder and filler.
