Short, thick and straightforward, the Rothschild sits at the compact end of the maker's Gran Reserva chart. It has been a Fuente staple for decades, and its natural Cameroon wrapper keeps it approachable. When a guest asks for a dependable Arturo Fuente in Dubai for a short break, this is often where we begin.
Profile: Mild, as rated by Cigar Aficionado.
Flavour Notes: Wood with an underlying nuttiness, per Cigar Aficionado.
How It Smokes: The wrapper is sandy in colour, and Cigar Aficionado's tasters found the draw and burn even. Our reading is of a simple, honest robusto. The first third is woody and clean. Through the middle an underlying nuttiness rounds the wood out. The finish stays dry and woody, with nothing sharp. Its appeal is consistency rather than drama, which is the point of the size.
Blend Details: Part of the Gran Reserva family, which the maker describes as the flagship of the Arturo Fuente brand and the product of four generations of family tradition. Made at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic with a Cameroon wrapper over Dominican binder and filler.
