Casdagli Daughters of the Wind Dahman Toro (7.1 x 56)

Dahman is the cigar that started Casdagli's Daughters of the Wind. The family's most famous racehorse was Bint Bint Durra, of the rare Dahman strain, and the line grew from her name. It is a large toro at 7.1 by 56, full-bodied yet complex, and our Downtown Dubai cigar house presents it in the slide-top box of 12 among its premium cigars in Dubai.

  • Size: 7.1 x 56
  • Shape: Toro
  • Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
  • Binder: Costa Rican, from the factory's own mountain plantation
  • Filler: Dominican Liguero Oscuro, Peruvian Pinar and Dominican Caramelo
  • Country of Origin: Costa Rica

Profile: Medium to full strength, full body (as published by Casdagli).

Flavour Notes: Caramel, vanilla, dark chocolate, earth, cinnamon, nutmeg and baking spices (Casdagli).

How It Smokes: Our reading of the Dahman opens rich, with caramel and vanilla over a dark chocolate base. Through the middle, earth comes in beneath the sweetness and the Dominican Liguero gives the smoke weight. In the final third cinnamon and nutmeg lead a warm wave of baking spice. The long, broad toro gives plenty of time for each layer, and the sweetness and spice stay in step to the finish.

Blend Details: The Daughters of the Wind line takes its name from a sixth-century Arabian poem about Bedouin horses, a tribute to the Sheykh Obeyd stables near Cairo where the Casdagli family bred celebrated Arabian racehorses in the early 1900s. Dahman is handcrafted at the IGM Cigars boutique factory in San José, Costa Rica, with Dominican Liguero Oscuro, Peruvian Pinar and Dominican Caramelo in the filler, a Costa Rican binder grown on the factory's plantation and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.
