At 26 ring, the Panetelas is the slimmest size in Cohiba's Línea Clásica, a Laguito No. 3 cut to 115 mm. We keep it in packs of 5 at our boutique for the smoker who wants a brief Cohiba among the premium cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Medium to full (Habanos rating: Medium to Full)
Flavour Notes: Grass, hay, honey, coffee, mocha and a little spice, from aggregated tasting notes on Cuban Cigar Website.
How It Smokes: Our reading of the Panetelas begins grassy, with hay and a light honey sweetness in the first third. The middle moves toward coffee and mocha as the narrow ring concentrates the wrapper's flavour. A trace of spice surfaces in the final third, keeping the finish lively rather than heavy. With a ring this slim the cigar burns quickly, so an unhurried pace keeps the smoke cool and the flavours clear from start to finish.
Blend Details: Cohiba is rolled by hand at the El Laguito factory in Havana, with leaves drawn from vegas in San Juan y Martínez and San Luis in Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Río. It is the only Habanos brand in which the seco and ligero leaves go through an additional fermentation. The Laguito vitolas take their name from the El Laguito factory itself.
