The E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic is a 5 3/8 x 52 from Encore, the line that followed La Historia, built on Nicaraguan tobacco and rolled in the Dominican Republic. Cigar Aficionado named the Majestic its No. 1 Cigar of the Year for 2018 with 96 points, and among the E.P. Carrillo cigars in Dubai it is the compact way into the blend.
Profile: Medium to Full
Flavour Notes: Zesty spice and pepper with citrus zest, aged cedar and oak, and a creamy finish.
Ours opens zesty, a quick flash of pepper with something like citrus peel riding on top. The spice settles after the first inch and the wood comes in: aged cedar first, then a drier oak. Through the middle the two trade places without losing pace. The final third softens into a creamy, velvety finish that takes the edge off the pepper. Short enough for an evening, with a lot happening along the way.
Encore is Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's second cigar in the series that began with La Historia. It is a Nicaraguan puro by leaf, with wrapper, binder and filler all from Nicaragua, and it is made in the Dominican Republic. The Majestic, at 5 3/8 x 52, carries the line's 2018 Cigar of the Year title from Cigar Aficionado. Find the full range in our E.P. Carrillo collection.
