The E.P. Carrillo Essence Connecticut Corona is the slim 5 1/2 x 44 of the Connecticut blend in the Essence Series, an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper made in Honduras. Among the E.P. Carrillo cigars in Dubai, it is a mild, refined choice for the morning coffee or a quiet afternoon.
Profile: Mild
Flavour Notes: Cream, hay, light pepper, toasted almond and cedar, with a clean, medium-length finish.
Ours opens on cream and a clean note of fresh hay, the narrow ring putting the wrapper right at the front. A light pepper follows, more brightness than heat. Through the middle, toasted almond comes in and gives the smoke a little more body. Cedar shows near the end, dry and tidy. The finish is clean and of medium length. Mild throughout, but with enough detail to hold attention.
Essence Connecticut is the fourth blend in the Essence Series, after Sumatra, Maduro and Honduras, and only the second made away from Casa Carrillo: it is produced at Agroindustrias DIADEMA in Danlí, Honduras. An Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper covers a Honduran Criollo 98 binder and a filler of Honduran and Dominican tobaccos. The Corona is the slimmest of the three sizes, and the one where the wrapper speaks loudest. Find the full range in our E.P. Carrillo collection.
