The E.P. Carrillo Essence Honduras Gordo is the widest size of the third Essence blend, the first E.P. Carrillo made outside Casa Carrillo. For those choosing premium cigars in Dubai, this 6 x 60 brings a rich Honduran OSA wrapper and a medium body in a generous, long-lasting format.
Profile: Medium
Flavour Notes: Dark chocolate, espresso, oak, earth and pepper.
Ours opens on dark chocolate and a soft, earthy depth that the OSA leaf carries well. The 60 ring keeps the smoke cool and plentiful, so the first third feels broad rather than sharp. Through the middle, espresso and oak settle in together, roasted and dry. A light pepper arrives late and lifts the finish without crowding the chocolate. It is a medium cigar with a full-sized presence, built for a long and leisurely sitting.
The Essence Series gives each blend a different wrapper to showcase. Essence Honduras is the third, and the first made away from Casa Carrillo: it is produced at the Plasencia family's Tabacos de Oriente factory in Honduras, in collaboration with the Plasencias. A Honduran OSA wrapper from Olancho San Agustín covers a Honduran binder and a filler of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos. The Gordo gives the blend its most generous volume of smoke.
