The E.P. Carrillo Essence Sumatra Toro takes the first Essence blend to 6 x 52, giving its Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper a longer stage. Handcrafted at Casa Carrillo, it is a medium-bodied option among the E.P. Carrillo cigars we keep in Dubai, easy in pace and generous in length.
Profile: Medium
Flavour Notes: Almond, coffee, white pepper and a touch of sweetness.
Ours begins with almond and a light sweetness from the Sumatra leaf, mellow and inviting. The extra length draws the middle third out, and coffee develops slowly alongside the nuttiness. The double binder keeps everything round and steady in body. White pepper comes in during the last third, gentle and dry, and the sweetness stays with it to the end. A Toro for an unhurried pace, never rushed.
Essence Sumatra is the blend that began the Essence Series, a line in which each cigar is designed around its wrapper. Here an Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf sits over a double binder of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco and a filler of Nicaraguan and Dominican leaf, handcrafted at Casa Carrillo in the Dominican Republic. The Toro gives those notes a longer, more gradual arc. Explore the house in our E.P. Carrillo collection.
