The E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut Robusto puts Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's creamy Connecticut blend into a classic 5 x 50. A golden Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper and a mild to medium body make it a graceful choice among the E.P. Carrillo cigars in Dubai for a shorter sitting.
Profile: Mild to Medium
Flavour Notes: Cream, cedar, leather, almond and a touch of pepper.
Ours opens with cream and almond, light and clean from the first draw. Through the first third cedar settles in and the smoke stays smooth and even. The compact Robusto keeps the flavours close: in the middle a soft leather note rounds out the cream, and the almond returns on the finish. Toward the end a faint pepper lifts the palate without any harshness. It is an elegant cigar for the morning or early afternoon, paired easily with coffee or tea.
New Wave Connecticut is rolled at Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic under Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's direction. A golden Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and a filler of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco, made to be creamy and smooth while still carrying flavour.
