The E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut Stellas is the slim 5 1/8 x 42 of New Wave Connecticut, an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over Nicaraguan tobacco, rolled in the Dominican Republic. Cigar Aficionado rated the Stellas 91 points, and among the E.P. Carrillo cigars in Dubai it is a short, flavourful Connecticut with more spice than the style usually shows.
Profile: Mild to Medium
Flavour Notes: Rich and creamy, with earth, a subtle sweetness and a hint of peppery spice.
Ours opens rich and creamy, fuller than a Connecticut wrapper usually suggests. Earth comes in quickly underneath, and the slim ring keeps every draw focused. Then the surprise: a small kick of pepper that lifts the middle and keeps it lively. A subtle sweetness runs alongside to the end. Short and bright, a cigar that fits a coffee and still leaves an impression.
New Wave Connecticut is one of the Casa Carrillo classics, designed to be rich and flavourful with a kick of spice that sets it apart from most Connecticut blends. An Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler, and it is made in the Dominican Republic. The Stellas is the smallest size in the line.
