The E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut Toro keeps the comfortable 50 ring of the Robusto and adds an inch of length. Golden Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade leaf over Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco gives a creamy, mild to medium smoke, a refined choice among the Dominican cigars in our Downtown Dubai humidor.
Profile: Mild to Medium
Flavour Notes: Cream, cedar, leather, almond and a touch of pepper.
Ours opens on cream and cedar, smooth and bright. On the first third a soft almond note joins in and the draw stays easy. The extra length gives the middle time to build: a gentle leather emerges under the cream, and the cedar becomes a little warmer. In the final third a light pepper appears on the finish, giving the cigar a clean close. It suits a long lunch or an afternoon in the shade, and it holds its creamy character from start to finish.
New Wave Connecticut is rolled at Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic under Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's direction. A golden Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and a filler of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco, made to be creamy and smooth while still carrying flavour.
