The E.P. Carrillo Pledge Apogee is the largest size of Pledge, the full-bodied line that followed La Historia and Encore: a 6 1/4 x 58 with a wrapper grown in the United States, rolled in the Dominican Republic. Among the E.P. Carrillo cigars in Dubai, it is the one for a smoker who wants strength with polish.
Profile: Full
Flavour Notes: Spice and robust wood, a hint of sweetness, an aromatic smoke and a smooth coffee finish.
Ours opens with spice and a solid, robust wood, the smoke dense from the first draw. The wide ring keeps it cool and lets an aromatic quality come through on the retrohale. In the middle third a hint of sweetness eases the strength without taking away from it. The finish is the line's signature: smooth coffee that rounds everything off and lingers. Full in body, never rough.
Pledge is Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's full-bodied release in the series after La Historia and Encore; Cigar Aficionado named Pledge its 2020 Cigar of the Year with 98 points. The blend uses a wrapper from the United States over an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan filler, and it is made in the Dominican Republic. Find the full range in our E.P. Carrillo collection.
