The PerfecXion X is the OpusX in its most classic proportion: six and a quarter inches with a 48 ring, enough length for the Chateau de la Fuente wrapper to show its full character. Arturo Fuente calls OpusX the standard by which it measures its own work. We hold it in a three-cigar pack at our Downtown Dubai cigar house, a measured introduction to one of the premium cigars in Dubai people seek out by name.
Profile: Full strength
Flavour Notes: Spice, leather, espresso and oak.
How It Smokes: The first third opens with a firm spice and supple leather, the OpusX wrapper giving the smoke an oily, almost glossy texture. Through the middle, espresso deepens the core and the spice settles into a steady warmth. In our reading the final third leans into oak, with leather and coffee still present underneath. The toro format gives an even burn and a generous draw, and the strength holds firm from start to finish.
Blend Details: All Dominican tobacco: a wrapper grown from Cuban seed at Chateau de la Fuente, over Dominican binder and filler, rolled in the dedicated OpusX room and aged for a year or more in closed cabinets before release.
