The Gurkha 35th Anniversary Pirámide marks three and a half decades of Gurkha with a blend the maker describes as complex and elegant. Made in the Dominican Republic under a Habano wrapper, this one is a pirámide whose tapered head focuses the draw, a shaped cigar that rewards a slower, attentive smoke in our Downtown Dubai boutique.
Profile: Medium
Flavour Notes: Earth and roasted nuts, with a long, cool finish.
Ours opens on dry earth, with a roasted-nut warmth arriving almost at once beneath the Habano leaf. Through the middle the two notes settle into each other, medium in body and never heavy, and the shaped head keeps the draw focused so each puff stays defined. The finish is the part we remember: long and cool, lingering after the cigar is set down. It is an anniversary cigar in temperament as well as name, composed rather than loud.
A Habano wrapper covers an Indonesian binder and a filler of Criollo 98 with Nicaraguan tobacco from Estelí. The cigar is rolled in the Dominican Republic, and Gurkha rates its strength as medium.
