The Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 Year Koi Perfecto is the cigar that defines Gurkha's Cellar Reserve family: fifteen-year-aged Dominican tobacco presented in a wooden box modelled on a maturing wine barrel. Under an oily Criollo 98 wrapper, this one is a 4 x 58 perfecto, short and thick, which concentrates the blend, and a quiet favourite in our Downtown Dubai humidor.
Profile: Medium to Full
Gurkha calls the Cellar Reserve full of flavour and complexity without itemising the notes, and ours lives up to the description in its texture first. The oily Criollo 98 wrapper gives a rich, slightly glossy start, and the fifteen-year Dominican filler brings a depth that only long ageing seems to produce. By the middle third the body has built to medium to full, layered rather than sharp, and it holds there steadily. The finish is long and composed, the reason this line keeps its place on our shelves.
A Dominican Criollo 98 wrapper covers an aged Dominican Olor binder and a Dominican filler aged for fifteen years. It is made in the Dominican Republic, rated medium to full by the maker, and packed in Gurkha's barrel-style Cellar Reserve box.
