The Gurkha Colección Especial Robusto belongs to a curated, limited-release collection that Gurkha rolls in vitolas chosen to suit the blend. Made in the Dominican Republic under a hybrid Connecticut wrapper, this one is a classic robusto, compact enough for a shorter sitting, approachable for a newcomer and interesting for a seasoned smoker in our Downtown Dubai humidor.
Profile: Mild to Medium
Gurkha publishes the blend for the Colección Especial rather than a list of flavours, and the blend says a lot. The hybrid Connecticut wrapper keeps the opening gentle and smooth, while the Seco and Ligero Habano with Connecticut Broadleaf in the filler give it more backbone than the colour suggests. Ours stays mild to medium, with a little more presence arriving in the second half. It is a cigar that works for a quiet afternoon and holds the attention of someone who smokes often.
A hybrid Connecticut wrapper covers a Mexican Sumatra binder and a filler of Seco and Ligero Habano with Connecticut Broadleaf. It is made in the Dominican Republic in limited quantities, rated mild to medium by the maker.
