The Gurkha His Majesty's Reserve, known as HMR, is Gurkha's most exclusive Churchill: a fifteen-year Connecticut Maduro wrapper over twelve-year Dominican binder and filler, aged with a rare cognac. Made in very small numbers each year, it is among the most collectable Gurkha cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Mild to Medium
Flavour Notes: Long-aged tobacco with the aroma of a rare cognac, used in its ageing.
Ours carries a fine cognac aroma on the wrapper, and the first draws are remarkably soft for a Maduro, a reflection of fifteen years on the leaf. The first third is smooth and fragrant. Through the long middle the aged Dominican tobacco shows a quiet depth while the body stays mild to medium. The burn is slow and exact. In the final third the cognac returns as a lingering aroma, and the cigar ends as gracefully as it began.
HMR combines a fifteen-year Connecticut Maduro wrapper with a twelve-year Dominican binder and filler, aged with a bottle of rare cognac. It is made in the Dominican Republic, rated mild to medium by Gurkha, and produced in a run of 75 boxes a year.
