The Gurkha Private Select Churchill Maduro marries a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with the sweetness of seven-year Ron Abuelo rum, in a long 7.25 x 52. Among the infused Gurkha cigars in Dubai it is the deepest and most dessert-like of the Private Select sizes.
Profile: Medium
Flavour Notes: Cocoa and nuts, toffee, with leather and earthy undertones, finished with seven-year Ron Abuelo rum.
Ours carries a toffee-like sweetness on the cap and a dark, oily Broadleaf wrapper that gives the smoke weight from the start. Cocoa comes first, then nuts, with the rum adding a rounded sweetness rather than a sharp one. Through the long middle, leather and a soft earthiness rise beneath the toffee. The Churchill length lets the infusion recede slowly, and the final third is rich, dark and medium in strength.
Private Select pairs Gurkha tobacco with the sweetness of seven-year-aged Ron Abuelo rum. Gurkha lists a Dominican binder and Dominican filler, made in the Dominican Republic, and rates it medium. It comes as a Churchill Maduro and as Toro and Corona in a natural wrapper.
