The Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 by E.P. Carrillo is the darkest voice in the 2024 Dragon series, blended by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo for Gurkha to mark the Lunar New Year. A box-pressed Toro in a San Andrés Maduro wrapper, it is one of the more intense Gurkha cigars in Dubai and made for an experienced palate.
Profile: Medium to Full
Flavour Notes: Firm spice balanced by a dark sweetness, with earthy depth and rich complexity throughout.
Ours opens on a sturdy spice that quickly meets a shadowy, dark sweetness from the San Andrés leaf. Through the first third an earthy depth settles in underneath, and the press keeps the burn tight and even. In the middle the sweetness and spice trade places draw by draw, while the earth grows richer. The final third stays complex and full, a cigar to give your whole attention to late in the evening.
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo set Dominican and Nicaraguan long fillers inside an Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, then finished the cigar in a dark, oily San Andrés Mexican Maduro wrapper. It is one of several distinct blends in the Year of the Dragon series and is presented in boxes of 10. Explore more in our Gurkha collection.
