The Gurkha Year of the Dragon 2024 by AJ Fernandez brings together Gurkha's taste for presentation and the blending of AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua. A box-pressed Figurado in an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, it is a Lunar New Year release that collectors of Nicaraguan cigars seek out, and a striking piece to find in Downtown Dubai.
Profile: Medium to Full
Flavour Notes: Spice and earth with a smooth richness, closing on a polished finish.
Ours opens with a lively spice that the tapered head concentrates on the palate, backed by a dry, earthy base. As the Figurado widens into the first third, the smoke grows fuller and the richness becomes smoother. Through the middle the spice and earth sit in balance, the box press giving a firm, even burn. The final third gathers everything into a polished finish that stays long and composed.
This edition is handcrafted at the AJ Fernandez operation in Nicaragua, with aged Nicaraguan binder and filler beneath a silky Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, then pressed into its elegant Figurado shape. It is presented in green and gold boxes of 10 to mark the Lunar New Year. Find the rest of the house in our Gurkha collection.
