The H. Upmann Majestic is a 140 mm corona at 40 ring, rolled in the Cremas vitola, a slim and traditional Havana proportion. It sits in boxes of 25 at our Downtown Dubai cigar house for those who favour classic shapes among premium cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Mild to medium (Habanos rating: Light to Medium)
Flavour Notes: Nut, wood, leather and licorice, as published by Cigar Aficionado (October 2017).
How It Smokes: The first third opens nutty and woody, the slim ring giving a focused, clean draw. In the middle, leather comes through and adds depth to the wood. The final third brings a touch of licorice that darkens the finish, with an ashy edge noted on the aftertaste near the band. Habanos rates the brand light to medium, and the corona format keeps the pace measured and the flavours distinct.
Blend Details: Herman Upmann, a German banker, settled in Havana in 1844 and founded both a bank and a cigar factory there. The bank closed; the cigars endured. H. Upmann is totally handmade with long filler from Vuelta Abajo leaves, and the gold medals on its boxes come from eleven nineteenth-century international fairs.
