Added to the Hoyo de Monterrey range in 2004, the Petit Robustos is a 102 mm cigar at 50 ring for those who want a fine Habano without a long sitting. We keep it in boxes of 25 at our boutique, a short and gentle way into cuban cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Mild (Habanos rating: Light)
Flavour Notes: Café au lait, cinnamon and wood, with a creamy texture, as published by Cigar Aficionado (February 2025).
How It Smokes: The first third is creamy in texture, with a café au lait softness that suits the brand's light profile. Through the middle a touch of cinnamon warms the palate. The final third leans woody on the finish, still smooth and clean. The thick ring in a short length gives a full draw and a smoke that fits comfortably into a short break.
Blend Details: Hoyo de Monterrey takes its name from the plantation in San Juan y Martínez, in the heart of Vuelta Abajo, whose gate still reads 'Hoyo de Monterrey. José Gener. 1860'. Every vitola is totally handmade with long filler from Vuelta Abajo leaves, and Habanos rates the brand light: delicate, aromatic and lower in strength.
Reserve this cigar online, on WhatsApp or by phone, then collect and pay at our boutique at Yansoon 9, Downtown Dubai. We check ID at collection.
It measures 102 mm by a 50 ring gauge, about 4.02 inches, in the Petit Robustos vitola de galera.
A Cuban wrapper from Vuelta Abajo. Habanos does not publish a shade for it.
In Cuba, totally handmade with long filler, as for every Habano.
Habanos rates it Light, which we describe as mild.
