Juan López is a brand created by a Spaniard of that name in the 1870s, followed by a small but loyal circle of smokers. Its Selección No. 2, a 124 mm robusto at 50 ring, is the heart of the range, and we keep it in boxes of 25 at our Downtown Dubai cigar house for those looking past the familiar names in cuban cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Medium to full (Habanos rating: Medium to Full)
Flavour Notes: Nut, caramel, fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and an apple pie character in a chewy smoke, as published by Cigar Aficionado (April 2026).
How It Smokes: The first third is nutty with caramel sweetness and a chewy, textured smoke. Through the middle, fruit comes forward with cinnamon and nutmeg, building a baked, apple pie character. The final third keeps the spice and caramel while the nut returns on the finish. Habanos rates the brand medium to full, and the robusto format gives a balanced draw and a smoke of moderate length.
Blend Details: Every Juan López is totally handmade with long filler, with filler and wrapper leaves from Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Río. Selección No. 1 and Selección No. 2 make up the core of the brand's range.
