The La Aurora Cazadores Claro Gordo comes from Cazadores, Spanish for hunters: La Aurora's everyday line of hand-rolled, long-filler Dominican cigars. The Claro is the mellow original of the three blends. It is the La Aurora we point to in Dubai when someone wants a relaxed, uncomplicated cigar for the terrace.
Profile: Mild to Medium
Flavour Notes: Mellow earth and coffee, with cedar and nuts on the finish.
Ours draws soft and easy from the first light, the silky Connecticut leaf keeping things mellow while a gentle earthiness and a little coffee come forward. The 60 ring Gordo burns cool and slow, with a big, soft volume of smoke on every draw. Cedar and a nutty note take over towards the end, clean and unhurried. It is a long-filler cigar, so the burn stays even and the ash holds well; we keep it for an unhurried hour outdoors with good company.
Cazadores Claro, the original blend the line launched with in 2018, wraps a silky Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut leaf over an Indonesian binder and Dominican filler from the Cibao Valley. Rolled by hand in the Dominican Republic and offered in boxes of 20.
