Habanos added the Double Edmundo to the Línea Edmundo in 2013 for smokers who want the full Montecristo blend without watching the clock. It is a longer Edmundo, built for an unhurried evening, and a fine way to explore cuban cigars in Dubai at a slower pace in our Downtown Dubai cigar house.

Flavour Notes: Habanos describes the Double Edmundo as carrying the full spectrum of aromas and flavours of the Línea Edmundo blend, over a smoking time of around an hour. Specific flavour descriptors are not published.

How It Smokes: We take our reading from Habanos' own description of the line. The first third is generous and aromatic, the 50 ring delivering a full, cool draw. Over the middle, the extra length lets the Edmundo blend unfold gradually, layering its aromas without rushing to strength. The last third gathers towards the medium to full intensity that marks Montecristo. Habanos speaks of around an hour from first light to finish. Because no specific flavours are published, we describe the arc of the cigar rather than name notes.

Blend Details: The Edmundo arrived in 2004 to answer the demand for heavier ring gauges, followed by the shorter Petit Edmundo. The Double Edmundo, factory name Dobles, 50 ring by 155 mm, extended the line in 2013 and introduced the redesigned Montecristo band. It is made totally by hand with long filler from Vuelta Abajo leaves.
