The pointed head of the Montecristo No. 2 is a silhouette recognised wherever Havana cigars are smoked. Habanos chose this Pirámides for the first Montecristo Gran Reserva in 2011, a clear sign of its standing. It is a centrepiece among cuban cigars in Dubai, and our boutique holds it in the classic box of 25.

How It Smokes: Our reading is built on the Habanos brand profile. The first third draws through the tapered head with focus, the aroma arriving ahead of the strength. As the cone opens to its full 52 ring in the middle, the smoke becomes broader and rounder, and the Montecristo character settles in. The last third deepens towards medium to full. Habanos has not issued a dedicated flavour note for the No. 2, so we keep to structure and character rather than invent flavours.
Blend Details: The No. 2 is one of the original five numbered Montecristo vitolas from 1935, made in the Pirámides factory format at 52 ring by 156 mm. Its stature led Habanos to use it for the brand's first Gran Reserva, Cosecha 2005. It is made totally by hand with long filler from Vuelta Abajo.
