The Nub Connecticut Gordo is a short 4 x 60 cigar from Oliva in an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. For those looking at Oliva cigars in Dubai for a lighter hour, it is mild to medium, smooth and creamy, with Nicaraguan tobacco inside.
Profile: Mild to Medium
Flavour Notes: Cream, cedar, nuts and a light, toasty sweetness.
Ours opens soft and creamy, with cedar arriving on the first few draws. The wide ring keeps the smoke cool and full. Through the middle a nutty note settles in, and a light toast gives the sweetness a little depth. It never pushes, and the Connecticut leaf keeps every third smooth. The finish is clean and gently sweet, a good match for a morning coffee or a quiet afternoon.
Nub is Oliva's short, wide format, built on the idea that a cigar reaches its flavour sweet spot sooner when the ring is large and the length is short. The Connecticut blend pairs a smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler, rolled by hand at Tabacalera Oliva in Estelí, for creamy flavour in a short format.
