The Nub Habano Super Gordo stretches the Nub idea to a 66 ring on a 4 inch length. Among the Nicaraguan cigars we keep in Downtown Dubai, it is an extra-wide, medium-bodied smoke from Oliva in an Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown wrapper, with pepper, earth and leather.
Profile: Medium
Flavour Notes: Pepper, earth, leather and a rich, robust core.
Ours has a broad, cool draw from the first light, and the pepper and earth arrive together. The extra ring gauge gives a large volume of smoke, so each draw feels full without being hot. Through the middle a soft leather comes forward and the core turns richer. The last third holds steady, with a long, earthy finish. It looks short in the hand, but it is a substantial cigar.
Nub is Oliva's short, wide format, built on the idea that a cigar reaches its flavour sweet spot sooner when the ring is large and the length is short. The Habano blend dresses Nicaraguan binder and filler in an Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown wrapper, rolled by hand at Tabacalera Oliva in Estelí. The 66 ring makes this an extra-wide Nub with a big, rich smoke. More of the house is in our Oliva collection.
