The Nub Sampler with Punch Cutter brings together four Nub by Oliva cigars, one in each of the line's wrappers, with a metal punch cutter to open them. It is a compact way to explore Nicaraguan cigars side by side, from a smooth Connecticut to a bold Maduro.
Profile: Mild to Full
Flavour Notes: Cedar, coffee, cocoa and spice with a creamy finish, changing with each wrapper.
We like to smoke the four in order. The Connecticut opens soft and creamy with cedar, an easy start. The Cameroon follows with a gentle sweetness and a little spice on the edges. The Habano turns richer, with coffee and a firmer pepper. The Maduro closes the set with cocoa and a dark, full body. Because Nub cigars are short and thick, each one reaches full flavour almost from the first draw, so the contrast between wrappers is clear and immediate.
Nub by Oliva is built short and wide on purpose, so the smoke arrives at the heart of the blend from the start. All four cigars share a Nicaraguan binder and filler and are rolled by hand at Tabacalera Oliva in Estelí, so the wrapper is what sets each one apart. The punch cutter completes the kit for travel or a gift. Discover more from the house in our Oliva collection.
