The Oliva Serie V Melanio Edicion Ano 2024 Gordo is the yearly limited release of the Melanio blend, offered in a single round 5.5 x 60 Gordo. For collectors of Oliva cigars in Dubai, it sets a silky Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over aged Nicaraguan tobacco.
Profile: Medium to Full
Flavour Notes: Earth, cedar, cocoa, caramel and black pepper, closing with the creamy refinement of the Melanio blend.
Ours opens on earth and cedar, the round 60 ring giving a broad, cool draw. Cocoa joins early and the Sumatra wrapper lends a silky texture to the smoke. Through the middle caramel rises and black pepper flickers at the edges, measured rather than loud. The last third turns creamy and refined, the familiar Melanio finish in a wider, rounder form than the core line.
Each year Oliva presents the Melanio recipe in one vitola only. For 2024 it is a round Gordo, not the box press usually seen in the line: aged Nicaraguan ligero from Jalapa under a Nicaraguan binder and a smooth Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, rolled by hand in Esteli, Nicaragua. The release carries an extra band marking the year, and the box is finished with piano artwork and a sheet music lining. See more in our Oliva collection.
