The 5000 is one of the fifteen cigars of the Padrón Series, the line the family has built on since 1964. At 5 1/2 by 56 it is a thick, round robusto, here in the maduro wrapper that Padrón offers alongside its natural. The Padrón Series is aged for at least two and a half years, and among premium cigars in Dubai the 5000 Maduro is a steady companion at our boutique, presented in the box of 26.
Profile: Medium to full body, as Padrón describes the Padrón Series.
Flavour Notes: Cinnamon spice, leather and black coffee with a nutty finish (Cigar Aficionado, 90 points).
How It Smokes: The first third of the 5000 Maduro opens on cinnamon spice over a dark, leathery base, the 56 ring giving plenty of volume. Through the middle black coffee takes the lead and the leather deepens. The final third keeps the coffee and spice in balance and closes on a nutty finish. Reviewers found the draw on the open side, which suits the wide format and the dark, veiny wrapper.
Blend Details: The Padrón Series dates from the founding of the company in 1964 and today runs from the Cortico to the Magnum. Every cigar is long filler and uses only sun-grown tobacco, grown, fermented and rolled by Padrón in Nicaragua.
