The Double Corona is the grandest of the By Carlito sizes, nearly eight inches of Cameroon-wrapped Fuente tobacco. It is one of the premium cigars in Dubai we keep for long evenings at our boutique.
Profile: Prometheus does not publish a strength rating for this cigar.
Flavour Notes: Prometheus does not publish detailed notes. Halfwheel's review of another By Carlito size describes baking spices and a cappuccino-like creaminess early, then cedar, black pepper and red chili flakes with a light syrup sweetness.
How It Smokes: Following halfwheel's reading of the blend, the opening is spice-led and bakery-sweet, with a light, creamy edge like the foam of a cappuccino. With this much length, the middle has room to build: cedar and generic wood, then black pepper and a touch of chili, with a little sweetness underneath. The closing third concentrates the chili and cedar and brings the cigar to its peak. Expect a long, steady burn and a balanced draw.
Blend Details: God of Fire is the collaboration between Prometheus and the Fuente family. The By Carlito blend carries the name of Carlito Fuente, who blended it, and wraps Dominican binder and filler, aged around three years, in Cameroon leaf. Each box of ten is individually numbered and made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. in the Dominican Republic.
