The Toro is the 6 1/2 by 52 size of the Rocky Patel Sixty, the birthday cigar Rocky Patel created when he turned sixty in 2021. It shares the line's Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Nicaraguan tobacco and its two years of rest after rolling. Slimmer than the Sixty vitola, it is a box-pressed toro that our boutique holds in the box of 20 among its premium cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Medium strength (Rocky Patel).
Flavour Notes: Sweetened cocoa, earth, fruit and black pepper (Cigar Coop review).
How It Smokes: The first third opens on lightly sweetened cocoa and earth, with fruit and a subtle black pepper in the background. In the middle, earth stays at the front while the sweetness eases and the pepper grows on the palate and through the nose. The final third keeps earth in the lead, with pepper as the main supporting note and touches of cocoa and fruit for balance. The firm press gives an even, cool smoke to the nub.
Blend Details: The Sixty line is produced at Rocky Patel's Tavicusa factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler. The cigars are aged for at least two years after rolling.
