Cupidos was unveiled by Habanos in Germany in 2023 as a thick-gauge figurado reserved for La Casa del Habano and Habanos Specialist stores, marked by an additional band that signals that exclusivity. It carries the aroma and balance of Romeo y Julieta in a more complex shape. For collectors of cuban cigars in Dubai, our boutique holds it in the special box of 20.
Profile: Medium to full, as rated by Habanos.
Flavour Notes: Habanos' tasting note: a red, elegant and silky wrapper; a wide smoke with grey wisps at medium strength; bitter notes with an intense aroma of tobacco and spices; the second third intensifies the brand's aromas and flavours; light grey ash and a lasting aftertaste with notes of wood, complex and spaced.
How It Smokes: Our reading follows the Habanos tasting note. The first third opens with a broad, generous smoke at medium strength, a slight bitterness giving way to an intense aroma of tobacco and spice. In the middle, the cigar reaffirms the Romeo y Julieta character with more intensity and definition. Towards the finish, a light grey ash builds and the aftertaste lingers with layered notes of wood. Habanos suggests it as an after-dinner Habano with a smoky aged rum.
Blend Details: Cupidos uses the Veronas factory format, 55 ring by 148 mm, in a special box of 20. Habanos describes wrapper, filler and binder as carefully selected from the Vuelta Abajo plantations of Pinar del Río. Made totally by hand with long filler, it carries an extra band identifying it as a La Casa del Habano and Habanos Specialist release.
