Big Daddy is the large-ring flagship of Tabanero: six and a half inches with a 60 ring, under a dark, oily Ecuadorian Sun Grown Habano 2000 wrapper. The bunch combines three Nicaraguan filler leaves from Jalapa, Estelí viso and Ometepe, which gives a big cigar real depth rather than just size.
Profile: Full
Flavour Notes: Dark pepper, roasted coffee, leather, cocoa
How It Smokes: Ours starts thick and peppery, the kind of first draw that fills the mouth. Roasted coffee comes in quickly and holds the centre while the pepper steps back. With a ring this wide the smoke stays cool and dense for a long time, and the middle third turns toward leather and a dusting of cocoa. The finish is long and savoury. Plan on well over an hour.
Blend Details: Ecuadorian Sun Grown Habano 2000 wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and long filler built from three leaves of Jalapa, two of Estelí viso and one of Ometepe. The bunch is pressed for two hours before wrapping for an even draw. Handmade in Estelí, Nicaragua, and draw-tested before it leaves the factory.
