Media Luna is a compact Trinidad, a 50 ring Marinas vitola at 115 mm that joined the regular range in 2019. Its short length makes it a natural choice for a single coffee or a walk after dinner, and it carries the same pigtail cap as its longer siblings. Our Downtown Dubai cigar house presents it in the box of 12 for those exploring cuban cigars in Dubai.
Profile: Medium (Habanos brand strength).
Flavour Notes: Orange flower water and honey, growing into leather and coffee bean (Cigar Aficionado, 90 points).
How It Smokes: The first third opens on orange flower water and honey, a delicate start for a 50 ring cigar. In the middle the profile deepens as leather comes forward, and by the final third coffee bean adds weight and a slightly roasted edge. The head can feel a little soft, yet the reviewers found the draw and burn even throughout, which keeps this short smoke clean and well paced.
Blend Details: Media Luna was one of two entirely new vitolas Trinidad added to the regular Habanos portfolio in 2019, alongside Esmeralda, with Topes moving over from a limited edition. It is made in Pinar del Río, totally by hand with long filler from Vuelta Abajo.
