E.P. Carrillo Pledge cigars in Dubai are gathered here: a full-strength, box-pressed line in three sizes, for experienced smokers who want a bold cigar from the house. Habanora holds the Prequel, the Sojourn and the Apogee.

Each wears an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper in a dark Maduro shade over an Ecuadorian binder, with Nicaraguan filler, and is made in the Dominican Republic. The Prequel is the Robusto (5 x 50), a shorter way into the blend. The Sojourn is the Toro (6 x 52) for a longer session. The Apogee (6 1/4 x 58) is the widest of the three, with a slower draw.

Because the line is full strength, pace matters more than usual. Begin with the Prequel after a meal, then move to the Sojourn or the Apogee once you know how the blend sits with you. The box press gives each a firm, square profile in the hand.
