La Aurora Maduro 1985 is an Original Blends release marking 1985, the first year the house used a Brazilian maduro wrapper. At Habanora this collection holds four sizes.

The Brazilian maduro wrapper sits over an all-Nicaraguan binder and filler, hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic. Expect oak, dark chocolate, espresso, leather and almond, with black pepper and a dried-fruit sweetness, at medium to full strength. Choose by format. The Robusto, 5 x 50, delivers that depth compactly and suits an after-dinner coffee. The Toro, 6 x 54, gives a longer, wider smoke. The Gran Toro, 6 x 58, is the widest, and the Churchill, 7 x 47, the longest, for a long, unhurried evening. If you are new to maduro, start with the Robusto, then move up in size once you know the blend.
