Dominican Wrapper Cigars

Dominican wrapper cigars in Dubai are gathered here: 37 cigars dressed in an outer leaf grown in the Dominican Republic, a less common choice than the Ecuadorian and Nicaraguan wrappers that fill most of the humidor at Habanora.

La Aurora leads with the most sizes: the Preferidos 1903 Edition Corojo, the 120th Anniversary, the 100 Años, the ADN Dominicano and the Corojo 1962, whose name marks the year the house adopted the Corojo wrapper. Gurkha adds the Sniper Churchill and the Cellar Reserve 15 Year shapes, from the Koi Perfecto (4 x 58) to the Kraken XO (6 x 60). Natura brings the compact Petit Altura Petit (4 x 39), and Arturo Fuente completes the selection.

The wrapper gives a cigar its look, its aroma and the first taste on the lips, so a shared origin here makes side-by-side comparison rewarding. Pick one La Aurora line and move through its sizes, from Robusto (5 x 50) to Churchill (7 x 47) and Gran Toro (6 x 58), to feel how length and ring gauge change the same leaf.
